How to read an issue

For every search that started rising, an issue answers three questions: is there enough demand, how crowded is Google already, and what's worth doing about it.

× baseline

We chart every keyword on Google Trends against one fixed baseline keyword, so all numbers share one scale. The figure is the keyword's search interest over the last 24 hours divided by the baseline's.

Reaching ⅓ means there's enough volume. It says nothing about competition, so always read it together with Google supply.

Google supply

How well the first page of Google already serves this search. More filled bars mean more competition.

Low supply
Few pages do this job well. The clearest opening.
Some supply
A few tools or pages cover it; a better one can still win.
Crowded
Big brands, official sites or mature tools hold the first page.
Supply unchecked
Not checked yet.

Status

Every opportunity is tracked across issues until it's confirmed or fades.

New
First appeared in this issue.
Watching
Has volume; we're checking whether it holds and where the gap is.
Confirmed
Held up and leaves room on Google. The strongest picks.
Cooling
Past its peak, or no longer worth starting.

Where signals come from

Most opportunities come from search trends. The other sources catch demand that shows up somewhere else first.

Search trends
Searches climbing fast on Google Trends.
Topic trends
Rising searches inside a topic, like a sports event or a franchise.
AI tool directory
New listings and fast movers on a large AI tool directory.
Big-site traffic
New pages and keywords suddenly drawing traffic on large sites.
Paying-user referrals
Products that show up as a source of paying customers.
E-commerce
New product listings that start pulling in searches.
Indie game communities
New games getting attention on itch.io, Show HN and similar communities.

Next step

Each opportunity ends with one concrete move, sized to the evidence. Holding off is a valid answer.
